Anonymous Complaint Feedback: Degree classification of B.Sc. (Hons.) Biology & Chemistry

In July, KSU’s Education Office had received a complaint regarding the allegedly unfair way of classifying the final class of the mentioned degree program, claiming that the vast majority were awarded a Second Lower.

We are pleased to announce that the Faculty of Science has sent us a detailed reply regarding the matter, and we encourage interested students to email us on education@ksu.org.mt to obtain more information.

Regularising Junior College Student Representatives

As part of it’s endeavours, KSU’s Education Office shall be focusing on regularising the Departmental Student Representatives found at Junior College. A list of current Student Representatives can be found here http://www.ksjc.info/student-department-representatives.html
This system had been previously introduced by KSJC but remains unofficially recognised by the Junior College Administration. KSU shall be holding discussions with the necessary entities to regularise such a system, ensuring the election is carried out fairly and professionally, and making sure the voices of these student representatives are better heard, once they are officially recognised by administration. These Student Reps will compliment the current system of having two Student Representatives on the Junior College Board. The current Student Representatives on this board are Ms. Thea Bugeja and Mr. Francois Piccione.
KSU’s Education Office is also working on a revised version Student’s Representative Guidebook, which will be an essential reference document to new and current Student Representatives, both at Junior College and at the University of Malta campuses.
The current version of Guidelines for Student Representatives can be found here: http://ksu.org.mt/images/resources/guidelines%20for%20student%20representatives.pdf

NEW: KSU’s Education Office Contact Hours

KSU’s Education Office is proud to announce an initiative through which students who would like to meet KSU Exec members with regards to Educational and Academic matters can rest assured that someone will be there to listen to their issues and help them out at the KSU Office inside Student’s House, at the University of Malta Msida Campus.

By introducing a Contact Hours system, the Education Office hopes students will feel more inclined to visit the KSU Office to discuss their difficulties, since the presence of either Jonathan Falzon or myself will be guaranteed (excluding public holidays and other special holiday periods). These Contact Hours are to compliment the already present system of contacting the Education Office via email on education@ksu.org.mt, through the anonymous complaint form found on the KSU website, or directly on our personal email addresses or mobile numbers (Contact details for Luke Buttigieg and Jonathan Falzon).
